Here's what happened when everyone on Twitter watched Elf together

Did you join the #elfalong?

IN YOUR FACE, SKY.

After the broadcaster announced it had acquired exclusive rights to show Elf this Christmas season, Guardian journalist Stuart Heritage organised a mass Elf DVD view-along for 3pm on Sunday, December 8th. He encouraged everyone who was tuning in to tweet along with the hashtag,#elfalong.

According to Stuart, the idea was so popular that people organised Elf viewings in village halls, and director Jon Favreau even threw a couple of #elfalong tweets his way.

Here’s what happened when everyone settled down to watch.
